The Whale
The official showcase of Whale on the Wharf (Skyscraper), a breathtaking four-storey blue whale sculpture at Canary Wharf. This striking installation by StudioKCA serves as a powerful visual reminder of the 150 million tonnes of plastic currently polluting our oceans. Crafted from plastic waste recovered from Hawaiian beaches and anchored by a low-carbon concrete base made from Canary Wharf’s own recycled coffee grounds, the project highlights the urgent need for a circular economy. Our video captures the scale and intricate detail of this 11-metre masterpiece as it joins the UK’s largest free-to-visit outdoor public art collection.
